About Us

Everyone deserves to live with dignity — not dependence
We started Humanity.Life because we couldn’t keep walking past the problem. Every day, more people in our community lose their homes, their jobs, and eventually their hope. Some are families who lost everything in a foreclosure. Many are veterans. More and more of them are women.
Humanity.Life is a non-profit organization that provides food, shelter and other basic resources to people who have become destitute and homeless — and then stays with them while they get back on their feet.
What we believe
Helping someone through one night matters. But we want to do more than that. Our goal is to help people regain hope and rebuild their lives, so they can stand on their own again and become productive, independent members of society.
To make that happen, we work hard to bring together every resource we can find — from local, state and federal agencies, and from generous private donors like you — and put it where it does the most good.
How it all started
For years, our founder Majid Safaie watched the streets of Los Angeles fill up with people who had nowhere else to go. Under bridges, beside freeways, in public parks — anywhere someone could lay down a blanket.
The more he saw, the more it bothered him. How can the richest country on earth have so many people living on its streets? Instead of waiting for someone else to fix it, he founded Humanity.Life — with the goal of ending homelessness in the United States and fighting poverty around the world.
