Hello,
my name is Majid Safaie and I am the founder and CEO of Humanity.life.
For many years I have witnessed the streets of Los Angeles and other public areas getting more crowded with people who have no place to live, but the streets. First if not all, but mostly these homeless people were men, then women have joined in living on the streets, public parks, under the bridges, side of the freeways, by the rivers and any other places that the could spread a blanket and lay down.
The more I have witnessed the homelessness, the more I became upset and ashamed. Ashamed that the country that we brag to be the richest country on earth and with values allegedly second to none, but we witness some many people throughout the country to live on the streets.
The financial crises of 2007/2008 increased the homelessness among the family when they lost their homes to foreclosure, losing their jobs and no where to live.
Although I have been member of many charitable organizations, but have finally decided something to fight homelessness not only in the USA, but throughout the world. I believe that I have witness that families with their pets live on the public parks, courthouses, and on the streets. The number of homelessness not only has not gone down, but has instead increased.
American family are becoming poorer rather than richer. The middle income families are vanishing and joining the lower income families. with some much wealth amassed throughout our country and the world, there should be no reason to have people living on the streets.
For years we have been told that these homeless people like to live on the street and they addicts and alcoholics and no good. I have refused to believe that as many of them are veterans and forgotten group. Now that women have joined the homelessness that argument has become nothing by a myth.
One in every five children go to bed hungry in the United States of America, that is simply not acceptable in a country who prides herself of being the riches country on earth, the country that prides herself of being land of freedom, democracy, and equality for all.
I decided to do something about this social malaise and founded Humanity.Life with the goal of eradicating homelessness in the US and fighting poverty across the world. I know it is a very ambitious goal and some argue it is not doable, but rather than sitting and doing nothing, I decided to at least take some steps to help these unfortunate people.
