At first, mostly these homeless people were men; then women joined in living on the streets, in public parks, under the bridges, by the side of the freeways, by the rivers and in any other place where they could spread a blanket and lie down.

The more I witnessed homelessness, the more I became upset and ashamed. Ashamed that in the country we brag is the richest country on earth, with values allegedly second to none, we witness so many people throughout the country living on the streets.

The financial crisis of 2007/2008 increased homelessness among families when they lost their homes to foreclosure, lost their jobs and had nowhere to live.

Although I have been a member of many charitable organizations, I finally decided to do something to fight homelessness not only in the USA, but throughout the world. I have witnessed families with their pets living in public parks, by courthouses, and on the streets. The number of homeless people has not gone down; instead, it has increased.

American families are becoming poorer rather than richer. Middle-income families are vanishing and joining the lower-income families. With so much wealth amassed throughout our country and the world, there should be no reason to have people living on the streets.

For years we have been told that these homeless people like to live on the street, that they are addicts and alcoholics and no good. I have refused to believe that, as many of them are veterans — a forgotten group. Now that women have joined the homeless, that argument has become nothing but a myth.

One in every five children goes to bed hungry in the United States of America. That is simply not acceptable in a country that prides herself on being the richest country on earth, the land of freedom, democracy, and equality for all.

I decided to do something about this social malaise and founded Humanity.Life with the goal of eradicating homelessness in the US and fighting poverty across the world. I know it is a very ambitious goal and some argue it is not doable, but rather than sitting and doing nothing, I decided to at least take some steps to help these unfortunate people.

Humanity.Life is a non-profit charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible, as Humanity.Life is approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization.

Please join us and donate as much as you can.
